What drives us, what we stand for, and where we’re headed.
OUR MISSION
The Ijaw National Congress USA Chapter exists to defend the cultural, political, and economic rights of the Ijaw people in the United States. We serve as the official platform for Ijaw unity, advocacy, and community building — carrying forward the founding mandate of the INC on American soil.
OUR VISION
A united, empowered, and globally visible Ijaw community in the United States — where every Ijaw man, woman, and child has access to their cultural heritage, a strong communal support system, and a platform to contribute to both American society and the Ijaw homeland.
We believe the Ijaw people are stronger together. Across clans, communities, and cities, we build bridges.
Our heritage is a living identity that we celebrate, protect, and pass to the next generation.
We speak with one voice on issues affecting our people — from the Niger Delta to Capitol Hill.
We invest in our people through education, professional development, and economic opportunity.
We serve our communities at home and abroad, contributing to positive change in every space we occupy.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency, governance, and responsible leadership.
Establishing a fully functional headquarters as the permanent home for the Ijaw community in America.
Expanding the celebration into the premier Ijaw cultural event in the Western Hemisphere.
Reaching Ijaw families in all 50 states through state chapter networks and digital engagement.
Preparing to host the INC Global Convention in Houston — the first time on American soil.
